Opentrack Wine Bridge

€1.99+

Opentrack Wine Bridge is an alternative approach to get native Opentrack working with Windows-Games running via Wine. Opentrack already has an integration with Wine, but it has limitations and issues with newer Wine versions and some commercial Wine based solutions such as CrossOver for macOS. It was not possible to easily fix the current method, so I created an alternative approach that should work with virtually every Wine base environment.

It's designed to work on macOS and Linux, but since I've been taking care of MacOpentrack my main focus for now is the macOS Platform and CrossOver. Thus I only offer macOS-binaries for now. Linux users need to compile from source for now. It's been successfully tested with CrossOver 24 and a few Games such as Euro Track Simulator 1 & 2, Elite Dangerous (Both Steam) and Falcon BMS 4.37/38. The way it is designed it should work with all games that also work with the windows version of opentrack.

It was a long journey and a lot of work, which is why I don't give the signed and notarized pre-built binaries away for free (you could build it from source though). Instead I offer a restricted demo version, so you can try it with your favorites games before purchasing it.

The free demo-version will stop transferring the head pose data after 30 Minutes and is available for download on GitHub where my fork of opentrack is hosted: https://github.com/matatata/opentrack/releases/tag/2026.1.1-matatata.1

Please try the demo first before purchasing! I will not be able to offer a lot of support although I'll try my best.

Also please do look at the documentation to get an idea how it's being used, installed and setup.

If you're not happy with it or it does not work or not well with the games you're trying to play, then follow the instructions to simply uninstall the demo version. But if it works well for you and wish to get the unrestricted version I'd appreciate you purchasing it for the specified minimum amount or more and hereby supporting my work on Opentrack Wine Bridge and Opentrack. You'll simply have to install the full version without the need to repeat any setup steps you had already made with the demo.

System requirements for the macOS binaries offered here:

  • A Wine environment preferably CrossOver for Mac. The games you wish to use head tracking with must support the FreeTrack or TrackIR protocols and must be playable in general. Opentrack Wine Bridge does not make your game run - it only makes head tracking work with native MacOpentrack. Again: please try the demo first!
  • Since Opentrack Wine Bridge is an accompanying software for, so you need the current release of MacOpentrack as well.
  • macOS Sonoma, Sequoia or newer. That being said I must admit that I wasn't able to test it with Tahoe yet, so let me know if there's a problem.

Linux users will need to compile the software from source for now. macOS users are welcome to do the same, but let me tell you it's not trivial and quite time consuming.

Please do not write a review to ask questions or report problems. Just reply to the confirmation email you'll received upon purchase. I'll try my best to help, but there's no official support being offered - which is why I cannot stress it enough: Please try the free demo first!
